Experience You Can Count On

R. Corley began his career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) in 1996 and retired after 24 years of service. Early in his career he was advised by a senior officer that in order to build a solid foundation and be more well-rounded as an officer, there were five positions that he should work.  He spent the next few years following that advice and became intimately aware of the inner workings of the institution and how the separate entities work together to support one another.

After promoting to Sergeant, Corley was trained and subsequently assigned as the Investigative Sergeant where he served, until he promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.  After serving on the line as Facility Lieutenant for a year, he was reassigned as the Investigative Lieutenant, where he served for several more years.

Corley conducted hundreds of investigations that focused on inmates manipulating staff members into over-familiar relationships resulting in attempts to introduce contraband into the institution.  Corley compiled information he gathered in the course of those investigations and created a presentation that serves to educate staff on the methods utilized by inmates to tempt staff and ultimately draw them into those dangerous relationships.

Corley earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration in 2009 and transferred to the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) where he served as a Parole Agent for three years. Due to the changes implemented by the passage of Assembly Bill 109, Corley returned to the institution setting in 2012 where he promoted to Captain at a Level IV institution and eventually promoted to Associate Warden where he served for three years prior to his retirement.

Throughout his career Corley has continued to provide this presentation to various institutions, state hospitals and local facilities that provide services to the inmate population. In his retirement he hopes to continue to educate people who interact with inmates in an effort to help prevent people from falling into the trap and making career ending and dangerous choices.

A two-hour presentation is a only small investment if it can empower your staff to protect themselves and one another.

Inmates prey on those who appear vulnerable and don't know the game.   You can't play the game if you don't know the rules...…........inmates have no rules.

Confused?

Give us a chance to walk you through the inmate manipulation process, it is a small investment that can save careers.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
